There's just something great about a new year. It's a new beginning. A chance to do things a little better, to get back on track. I'm always filled with ideas, or resolutions I suppose, of what I want to accomplish over the course of the year. This year I want to capture my mom's memories along with several other family members. This is important and I don't want to get distracted again thinking I have plenty of time to get that done. I need to attend to the important things first and not get side-tracked by the busyness of life.
Can you relate? Have you wanted to record the memories of yourself or a loved one but have never actually "gotten around to it"? Make this the year. Memories fade with time. Capture them now so you can share them forever. This is one of those important things. Resolve to do it this year. There are many tools to help you accomplish this goal. Consider using a service like Remembered Well to create an audio personal history or grab a pen and paper and start jotting down those precious memories yourself. Or, consider using your smart phone to record conversations with a loved one. The tools are all around you. It's up to you to make it a priority. Put your family first in 2017. Unlike losing 10 pounds or getting a new job, memories will last forever if you take the time to record and save them. Here's to family and here's to 2017!
